Notes
Part of the Greek Cyclades, Melos was a center of early civilization due to its strategic geographic location between Crete and the mainland. The great deposits of obsidian made the island great in trade during the Aegean civilization times. It was also here, where the iconic Venus of Milo was found in 1820, on the ancient acropolis of Adamanda.
