Notes
Gournia is built on a slope above a harbor. The ruins and the reconstructed plans show that many houses share exterior walls which show the importance of a centeralized administraion in Minoan Crete. Gournia's palace is what dominates the town, and it is made of ashlar masonry. It may be visible near the center of the image.
