Notes

Knossos was a great palace and architectual feat, which acted as a cultural and administrative center. Its final destruction marks the beginning of the postpalatial period. Our discoveries at Knossos explain much about what we know of politics in the Minoan world. This site is also referred to as the palace of Minos because it is considered labyrinthine and because Minos was the king of Crete in Greek mythology.
