Notes
The cave of Ida is said to be the birthplace of Zeus and Ida is the name of his nurse in Greek myhtology. Although it is not apparent from the slide, votive offerings were left at the altar of Zeus in honor of his worship. The interior of the cave appears craggy and difficult to traverse.
