Notes
Like other Minoan towns, this image reveals the labrynthine nature of Minoan construction and planning. The construction in this image shows evidence of both ashlar masonry and rubble foundations compiled of stacked stones. Seven people stand in the background, which reveals the huge scale of the ruins at the archaeological site. The construction techniques and the depth of the excavation indicate that this is this site of Kommos, rather than the later Eleutherna (which was also labeled on the slide).
